The Bright Future Project
We’re all united by a desire for our kids to have good lives. How do we achieve that bright future when ecological overshoot threatens to leave our kids a dead planet instead? The Bright Future Project. That’s how!
During my campaign for U.S. President, I’ve been sketching out a national project to get out of ecological overshoot. It needs to be an all-hands-on-deck, WWII mobilization scale effort. The project plan is a work in progress. I’ve been having conversations with smart people on my Dave the Planet podcast to add detail to the blueprint. The third such episode is now available (video below). In this new episode, we primarily discuss what the public communication campaign might include.
Mission of The Bright Future Project: What Must We Do to End Overshoot?
- Scale down our population and economy
- Create new social norms that bring our appetites and behaviors back within planetary boundaries
- Identify and implement public policy and programs to accelerate this
- Programs to HELP us make the needed changes
- Programs to REMIND us daily of the changes we all need to be making
